Archbishop Paolo Giulietti presides over the Eucharistic celebration prior to the concert by the students of the “Luigi Boccherini” Conservatory of Music and the “Augusto Passaglia” Music High School, organized in collaboration with the diocesan Caritas.

Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., at the Church of San Francesco in Lucca

The program is decidedly rich and varied, yet conceived in the spirit of celebrating the figure of the saint through music, featuring composers such as Mozart, Petrassi, Miller, Gijelo, and Deraco.

On stage will be students from the “Luigi Boccherini” Music Conservatory, conducted by Maestro Remo Pieri, and students from the “Augusto Passaglia” Music High School, under the direction of Prof. Ausilia Cristoforo and Prof. Roberto Presepi.

Donations will be collected during the event to support projects combating educational poverty coordinated by Caritas in the local areas. This event also marks the culmination of a broader initiative to promote cultural and musical activities in small communities and the most remote towns of the province, the “Community Music Festival.”

The initiative is part of the program “Francis: Eight Hundred Years Later—Thought, History, Poetry, Music,” conceived and promoted by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca throughout 2026 to commemorate the Saint of Assisi and explore his spiritual and cultural legacy.
