On the occasion of the Jubilee Year, the Fondazione Antica Zecca di Lucca is exhibiting to the public a collection of medals minted from 1980 to the present day by the Vatican Mint. The story, engraved in the silver and bronze of the medals, of the extraordinary reign of the last three Popes: John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. The exhibition consists of more than fifty examples of annual coinage issued during the pontificate of the three Popes: a careful selection of commemorative medals and circulating currency of the Vatican City that find their ideal completion with the Jubilee 2025 Medal coined by the Mint of Lucca and engraved by Maestro Roberto Orlandi.
The exhibition, from May 2025 to May 2026, is set up in the premises of the Museo dell'Antica Zecca di Lucca, on the upper floor of the Casermetta San Donato on the City Walls.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Saturday at 9:30 a.m. / 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. / 5 p.m. and on weekends when the museum is open, according to the calendar that can be downloaded from the museum's website, or, even at different times, by appointment. Inauguration of the exhibition on Monday 5 May at 5 p.m.
