Toto, one of the
most influential and beloved bands of all time, celebrates half a century since its formation and returns to the Lucca Summer Festival.
It was January 7,
1977, when David Paich and Jeff Porcaro—joined by Steve Lukather, Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and David Hungate—came together for the first time in California, forging a musical identity where rock, pop, soul, and jazz converge, defined by an extraordinary level of songwriting and performance. With over 50 million albums sold and more than nine billion total streams, their music continues to reach an ever-growing audience. On Spotify, the song “Africa” has surpassed two billion plays—a testament to a cross-generational appeal that remains vibrant during their live concerts.
Leading the band on stage are Steve Lukather (guitar and vocals) and Joseph Williams (vocals), accompanied by Warren Ham (woodwinds, percussion, and vocals), John Pierce (bass), Keith Carlock (drums), and both Dennis Atlas and Rai Thistlethwayte (keyboards and vocals).
