The Mercato Antiquario Lucchese is a regular appointment in Lucca and a must for all fans of this kind of markets.

More than 200 exhibitors from all over Italy expose their items in this second oldest antiques market of Italy.

The stands of the exhibitors are spread inside the historic center of the city from Piazza Antelminelli next to the cathedral e in nearby streets and squares, showing many diversified and interesting objects ranging from jewels of different periods to furnishings and furniture, fabrics, antique and modern crockery and tableware, paintings, etchings and posters.

The event, and in particular the local antiquarian tradition in Lucca, has ancient origins that date back to the Middle Ages when the noble families of Lucca used to travel around Europe in search of rare and exclusive pieces that could be used to enrich their mansions.
