Teatro del Giglio, piazza del Giglio, Lucca
The opera season opens every year at the Teatro del Giglio, an artistic and cultural landmark and traditional theatre in Lucca, alongside prose and dance performances, ranging from classical to contemporary.
From November to May, the opera programme for the 2025/26 season at the Teatro del Giglio Giacomo Puccini presents a true celebration of the great opera repertoire: La cenerentola, Nabucco, Otello and Turandot - bringing four of the most important and beloved titles of all time to the Lucca stage and offering the public an authentic, unmissable journey through the history of opera.
The programme is enriched by two concerts, “Tutto Mozart” by Maestro Zubin Mehta conducting the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
and “The Road Home” with the Royal Danish Opera Choir conducted by Giorgio Musolesi.
Two productions are dedicated to the younger generation: Il Brutto Anatroccolo (The Ugly Duckling) by Salvatore Passantino and Piccolo orso e la Montagna di ghiaccio (Little Bear and the Ice Mountain) by Giovanni Sollima, based on a libretto by Giancarlo De Cataldo.
On stage on 25 April at 6 p.m.
On 26 April at 4 p.m.
