De.C.O. is a community that brings together a network of institutions, producers, organisations and businesses. Joining De.C.O. means helping to pass on the authentic knowledge and flavours of tradition and to preserve the local cultural heritage and history of the community.
In the hills of Lucca, in Aquilea, on 27 and 28 June, the community gathers for the Nights of Taste, ancient science and Lucca’s culinary traditions.
Saturday 27 June - Roots and traditions6.00 pm - impromptu painting session
7.30 pm - opening of the food stalls, De.C.O. area and activities.
You can sample Aquilea soup and vegetable-topped tarts.
An immersive journey through the park’s medicinal plants
9.00 pm –
The evolution of soup from the year 1000 to the present day, a historical and gastronomic journey curated by the Academy of Soup
10.15 pm – Music and meetings with producers
Sunday 28 June – The secrets of the region7.30 pm – Opening of the food stalls. Exhibition and wellness area in the countryside.
Tasting trails and an emotional journey through the medicinal plants.
9.00 pm –
Plants and fruits to be saved: a narrative lecture on the ancient and modern uses of rare plants and fruits. Presented by Ivo Poli, custodian and grower.
10.30 pm –
Grand finale and acknowledgements: a moment of sharing with producers and institutional greetings.
