The race, organised by the Lucca Marathon association, represents one of the most awaited events by runners and running enthusiasts for a day of sport and nature.
The route is very impressive, along the Walls, the green lung of the city, and the most popular streets and squares of the historic centre, climbing up the city walls to reach the finish line.
The circuit is flat, paved and entirely closed to traffic, suitable both for experienced middle distance runners and amateur walkers.
A ring of 4,223 metres, corresponding to the classic tour of the Walls, will be run twice, for a total distance of 21,097 metres.
