September is a particularly precious month for locals in Lucca because of the celebration of the Santa Croce Feast, dedicated to the Holy Cross of the Volto Santo that has protected the city for centuries and that will take center stage on September 14, but there are also the traditional end-of-season market fairs this year on September 14, Santa Croce, September 21 San Matteo and September 29, San Michele.
These traditional events are combined with culture, art, sports and outdoor activities for a memorable end to the season.
