Made in Italy. Destinazione America 1945-1954: a journey through Italian design and creativity in the post-war period, told in an innovative and original way.

The exhibition, curated by Paola Cordera and Davide Turrini, with design by Uliva Velo, is open from 5 April to 29 June in the exhibition spaces of the Fondazione Ragghianti in the Complesso monumentale di San Micheletto.

The exhibition documents the evolution of Italian artistic and manufacturing production in the years immediately following the Second World War, highlighting the importance of the relationship with the United States in fostering the development and promotion of Made-in-Italy design, as well as the important role played by Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti. From Venini glassware to the ceramics of Gio Ponti and Lucio Fontana, passing through Salvatore Ferragamo's footwear, the exhibition recounts a period of great creative ferment and international revival through pictorial, sculptural and graphic works, applied art and design objects, fashion accessories, set designs, products and documentation.

The four sections - The House of Italian Craftsmanship. From Florence to New York, Journey to Italy, Living the Italian Way, New Forms and New Routes - evoke a crucial moment in the promotion of Made in Italy, emphasising the importance of Italian ‘know-how’ and the relationship between art and design.

The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday 10 a.m. / 7 p.m. and also on Monday 21 April (Easter Monday) and Monday 2 June (Republic Day).
