Lucca adheres to the national Sport City Day, promoted by the Sport City Foundation on Sunday 22 September in more than forty Italian cities, to promote sporting activity as an opportunity for development, socialisation and the valorisation of places and spaces under the banner of urban regeneration of cities.

In Lucca 54 associations and urban parks of the Walls and River Park will be involved.

On the bastions of Santa Maria, San Paolino and San Donato and along the entire promenade in this part of the city walls, one can try out many sports and discover the many associations operating in the Lucca area.

Sport City Day is organised by the Sporticity Foundation, which since 2020 has been working on the national territory promoting an active lifestyle thanks to the collaboration of local, national and European bodies and institutions.
