Lucca hosts the exhibition Antonio Canova e il Neoclassicismo a Lucca, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi and produced by Contemplazioni, from 8 December 2023 to 29 September 2024 in the premises of the Ex Cavallerizza.

On display are numerous masterpieces by Antonio Canova, including sculptures and paintings, from the Museo Gypsotheca Antonio Canova in Possagno, the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Rome, and prestigious public and 
private.
It is an evocative journey towards the continuous search for beauty and its ideals, with more than 100 works between Canova and the Lucchese and Tuscan masters of Neoclassicism, such as Pompeo Batoni, Bernardino Nocchi and Stefano Tofanelli, as well as Francisco Goya and up to the new Romantic experience of Francesco Hayez.

Opening on June 28, July 25 and 31 August until 12 p.m. (last admission 11 p.m.). From 7 p.m. the ticket is € 12.00, including audioguide.

On 31 August, on the occasion of the Notte BIanca, starting at 19:00, the ticket is € 12.00, including audioguide.
