Eklettica. La metamorfosi della forma di Robert Altmann: tribute and desire of a meeting.

On exhibition a selection of works from his past two decades: from the fast and intuitive movement of Altmann's painterly gesture to the inspirations and influences of the great masters such as Raphael, Velasquez and Picasso.

From March 16 to April 21, 2024 at Palazzo delle Esposizioni of Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca.

Luminous works, where gesture lands in broad backgrounds and incised strokes; works created from black, where shadows and abstract signs become powerful dramatic inspirations; three-dimensional works, the meta-forms. In all of them there are stylistic features that return and chase each other, such as the twist and momentum that animate the figures - angels, female and male bodies, elements of nature - stretched toward the limit allowed by the canvas.

An artist away from set patterns and free from superstructures, yet so rooted in the history of art. An undisputed master, capable of holding firmly in his hands the reins of an authentically personal and immediately recognizable visual language, made up of the eternal movement of the world across the canvas and the gaze that endlessly loses itself in it. 

Opening on Saturday, March 16 at 5:30 pm.
The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday with with timetable 15:00 / 19:00.
