Napoleon Bonaparte: Historical Relics Reveals Private Moments, an absolutely new exhibition with an extraordinary collection of everyday objects of the time, to learn how the Napoleonic myth was born and why it continued to exist even many years after the emperor's death, right up to the present day.

Objects that, with their iconographic themes engraved on them, evoke the great events of history and the small events that are little known or unknown to the general public.  
The objects make it possible to take an extraordinary "journey through time" to discover the aspects linked to a figure who, with his only strength, was able to create an empire and to give his name to an era: private moments, habits, tastes and passions of a world, the Napoleonic world, known by most people only for the battles that characterised it.

The exhibition begins with tobacco tins, objects that were very dear to Napoleon himself. Made of various materials and crafted by skilled artisans, symbols, faces of sovereigns and politicians of the time are depicted on them: the visitor, thanks to these elements, can retrace the milestones of Napoleon's life.
This is followed by a collection of exquisitely crafted pipes, the engravings of which witness to the birth and persistence of the Napoleonic myth, which arose as early as the aftermath of the Battle of Waterloo when many people had been looking for relics on the battlefield.
Engravings and medals are also on display.

The exhibition can be visited from April 20, 2024,  to March 31, 2025, at Casermetta San Donato on the Urban Walls, from Monday to Friday scheduled 9:30 a.m. / 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. / 5:00 p.m. and on the weekends when the Museum is open according to the calendar published on the Museum's website or by appointment, also at different times.
